Testing with Flow Visualization

A re-circulating, low-speed wind tunnel with frequency controlled wind speeds defines the means to which we capture and analyze aerodynamic properties of athletes. Located in CPP's heated warehouse with plenty of space for a team of athletes to warm-up, this setting provides a unique yet professional atmosphere for conducting aerodynamic testing. The frequency controlled fan allows for efficient start-and-stop controlling of wind in order to optimize position and equipment changes in a time efficient manner. A uniquely designed software and drag balance allows for 15-20 second pedaling samples for each position or equipment test. A dynamic yaw table with an electronic control enables the wind tunnel test operator to make a complete yaw sweep of a bicycle and/or rider in a matter of 4-5 minutes right from the control center. These characteristics of the wind tunnel lab are unprecedented in bicycle wind tunnel testing throughout the world.
