Rick Crawford signs on MTB Pro, Shonny VanLandingham, for the 2008 XTERRA Series.

Rick Crawford of Colorado Premier Training and professional mountain biker Shonny VanLandingham renewed their contract last week, focusing on the multi-sport XTerra Series.

"Rick and I are excited about taking on this new challenge to transition from full time mountain bike racer to XTERRA racer. We have had a successful partnership thus far in mountain biking and have our sites set on podiums in XTERRA for '08. I am personally excited about the new challenge of swimming and running. I feel like a rookie pro again...motivated and ready to learn!" ñ Shonny VanLandingham

The 2007-í08 Season introduces a significant modification to Shonnyís previous mountain biking training schedule as Shonny sets her sights on the 2008 XTerra Series. Having proven herself on two wheels, the XTerra national and international series will be a serious challenge. Shonnyís short term goals are to develop her swimming skills and maintain her perfected cycling form while running, which is always a new triathletesí challenge. According to Crawford, ìwhen Shonny gets her sights on something, the girls in front of her better watch out.î Long term, nothing short of winning the world championship will suffice.

Crawford, who is known for his integrated coaching philosophy, has worked with Shonny since 2002. No stranger to competition, Shonny appreciates Crawfordís ability to ìmix it upî. Steering away from a conventional approach, Crawford creates stimulating, integrated training methods utilizing a local infrastructure. Their previous training regimen was created around Shonnyís professional mountain biking career, in which she successfully won the National Mountain Biking Championship twice and the Series Championship three times. Due to a broken collarbone, they missed out on the 2000 Olympic Team.

Shonny VanLandingham is ready for a new challenge and Colorado Premier Trainingís Rick Crawford is the answer.
